Here is a review of what the workgroups have done:
Groups made a "first effort" at making a fast robot. They recorded data and described the design of the drive train.
Groups then gradually edited programs to get the dragsters to "start on brighter," and to "record and display time", while "stopping on dark."
These designs were then rebuilt to try to make the 'bot go faster. Groups used real science to test the new designs. Data was recorded from time trials again to compare to the first set of data. Then analysis was done to determine if more speed was attainable.
I am very pleased with all of the groups results!! I am looking forward to next week to hear you explain what you accomplished.

I had you on Monday for first period and we discuss the needs of laptops for the sixth graders. I had a few questions and responses to ask you. As a sixth grader, I think sixth grader should havre the chance to bring home the laptops. If there was any students who teacher suggest that has no responsiblity then they shouldn't recieve any. Also when will the laptops come?
Please answer back soon, this is Kelly from class 625
Hey, this is Daniel. I, from my own point of view saw that every group made a lot of progress today on April 3. Now everybody has a chance to race other competitors from the class because everybody has the program code mentioned in Mr.Wright's original post. I even explained how the program code works to the groups who volunteered help with programming. There were many, but clever excuses mad when a team lost, such as low battery power, the paper or the racing field. That makes me see that all the teams are making progress because now they are able to make inferences and lead to conclusions scientifically about the environment and internal power in the brick that could affect the speed of their own robot. A lot of progress was made today, which made me see how much the rest of the groups have more experience. Good luck to everybody!! :-)

For the Slamon challenge for the Pentathalon, I think light sensor forks work depending on the color of the cups
How do you use pneumatic pumps? I just found one.
The pumps can be used to push or pull an arm or object. Instead of gears to move an axel to do work, pumps push air which moves a piston that does the work.
And for the laptop, is it possible that we caqn bring it home in the summer vaction? also can we keep it? This is Kelly from class 625
The IBM laptops will not go home, but will be yours to use at I.S. 93 as much as possible.
hey mr wright....time for an update on this blog right?
