Better!

I read all of the comments about the missions you all plan to solve.

I would like you to submit sketches or photographs of your prototypes so we can begin to make commentary on the form and function of each group's design.

Do you have programs in mind yet? Maybe groups should begin to plan for prgramming while they build robots. I have a feeling the programming will become very important for these missions especially for the craertive challenges!

I have decided to do a similar progrm for this years slalom as i did last year, the only diference is that I'm using NXT instead of the RCX. This means that this years slalom bot will be a more bulky than last years slalom bot. For the programing i also plann on using floats and curves to make it move between cups as smoth as possible. This years slalom is a lot easier since the distance from beginning to end is shorter and the distance between cups is also shorter. Fuerther more, I plan on making this slalom bot faster and showing off the robot.

I think that I'll try to make a claw and use a similar concept that Daniel and I used the previous year to solve the recycler. I'll see how that works out and then comment again when I have a clearer idea.

Eugene, Sounds good. What I would to hear about is your programming plans. Can you tell a little about what you plan to program to solve missions?

Hey Mr. Wright! My group isn't really thinking out of the box! I want to work on the Ball Game or the creative challenge. My group wants to take the easy way out and work on the mountain climber. I was pretty much out numbered, so I guess we are going to do the MOUNTAIN CLIMBER!

My group will build a robot using pneumatics. We are going to try to build a structure powered by air force. Thus, we are using no brick, motors, or any batteries.
Since we are using air instead of a brick and batteries to power our robot, we will not create a Robolab program. Instead, before we make the structure move, we will compress the air tanks with air pressure. This provides a boost kinetic energy from stored, potential energy.

Well, I think that I am going to make a program that goes around and gets all the red balls at first and then takes them back to base for delivery. I haven't exactly worked out all the details, but I will post when I get my thoughts organized.

I think that you roblegoman have a good idea so far.I like that you are going to use the floats and curves in order to make your robot maneuver around the cup easily and also more smoother.I also like the chances you have in beating the slalom mission, because you mentioned how the distance is shorter and the distance between the cups is also shorter.I am looking foward to watching you win first place in that event!

Danny, I think that your pneumatics idea is very interesting. I like your idea of using air pressure to move your robot, and I am curious to see how it will work. Do you think it will be possible to make your robot fly?
Anyway, I can't wait to see you working on the robot in class.

My group and I are choosing a very unique idea of building a "Nerdzilla". It is basically a replica of "Godzilla" and its purpose is going to be destroying a city!

I agree with Sean, your idea is very creative and I too wonder if it is possible to make it fly.

My group and I are thinking of making our lego lizard to move on wheels making it able to maneuver easily. However, I can picture our robot skating around the city in a somewhat graceful way depriving it of it's ferociousness. But before we can drop the idea, we will have to see how it will come out.

Danny,
I think you may need to use the "hybrid" idea of alternative power. The RCX or NXT will have to use its battery powered CPU to get data from the sensors and possibly to turn. You are clever enough that you may be able to control direction with the pnuematics.

And we have a minonxt that goes towards the nerdzilla who's head tilts forwards towards an enemy and charges at it.
